What the course offers

Session 1

  • Why it’s necessary to inspire ourselves before we inspire others.
  • The importance of self-reflection and taking time to get off autopilot.
  • Recognising the power of our choices, and how it’s not simply events, but our response to them, that determines the outcome.
  • Introduction to why mindset matters.

Session 2

  • Further developing ideas around ‘mindset matters’ by exploring the SUMO principle Develop Fruity Thinking. We will identify ways of thinking that hinder our effectiveness and performance and can undermine our personal wellbeing.
  • We will then focus on how to move from Faulty to Fruity thinking by using a specific tool that Paul has developed.

Session 3

  • How to handle setbacks and recover from disappointments.
  • Exploring that it’s OK to not always feel OK.
  • How to make sure that staff don’t spend too long wallowing but develop the resilience to move on from setbacks.
  • Introduction to building better relationships.

Session 4

  • Continuing to explore building better relationships with our staff and other stakeholders.
  • Finally, exploring the six reasons that prevent us taking action, and how to move on to overcome procrastination and make a difference.
